Maggie’s Place welcomes you to a dining experience that reaches way beyond just food & drink. It is the perfect, informal environment where friends and family meet to enjoy cooking of a very high standard, made wherever possible from top quality, locally sourced ingredients. At Maggie’s, you will have fun, enjoy good food & become a fully paid-up member of Roda’s special holiday atmosphere.
Maggie’s Place has all the hallmarks of a typical bistro-style restaurant with its relaxed and intimate setting, its long opening hours and its inspired and varied menu.
Owned for over two decades by Maggie & her husband Des, the bistro is an integral part of the Roda restaurant scene and something of a Mecca for those looking for an exciting collection of home-cooked dishes and mouth-watering meals. At Maggie’s, there is something for every taste - and plenty of it.
Maggie’s Place specialises in hearty, traditional dishes that have a timeless appeal. Personal service is part of the deal and everything is served with big warm, friendly smile such that many of Maggie’s customers have been returning for as long as they can remember.
From 2009, Maggie’s Bistro will concentrate on providing a comprehensive afternoon and evening brasserie-style service, incorporating snacks, light meals, homemade cakes and desserts along with a take-away service, as well as “full-on dining” and special celebrations. The café/brasserie format and atmosphere also lends itself to those who just want a leisurely beer or carafe of wine.
Maggie is perhaps most famous for her signature dish - North Sea cod in a traditional crispy batter, and served with golden chips and mushy peas. Even in the UK, you would be hard-pressed to find ‘fish & chips’ of such quality and that’s not all - it comes in three sizes, with the largest being something of a challenge for even the healthiest appetite. The question is … are you up to it?
Maggie’s Place can be found right in the centre of Roda, immediately opposite the 600 year-old Byzantine church in the old village lane.
